Good evening, Trevilians Families!
Here is your Trevilians Eagles’ Preview for the week of August 31st to September 4th.
Once again, we wrapped up a great week of learning in our buildings and at home! It’s amazing to see our students engaged in fun virtual learning activities at home and engaging lessons in class.
This week, we are celebrating our first Green and Gold spirit days of the year! On both Monday and Friday this week, we encourage all of our staff, students, and families to deck out in their Green and Gold whether you are at home or at school. Please share your photos using the hashtag #TeamLCPS and email them to spirit@lcps.k12.va.us.
On Monday and Tuesday this week, our Blended Learning students will be bringing home Student Learning Resources that should be kept at home in the event of an unexpected school closure. As Superintendent Straley explained in his message this week, LCPS is not anticipating a closure at this time, but we do want to be proactive. These resources vary based on grade level, but may include hands-on manipulatives, flash drives, and downloaded content on the students’ devices. Again, please look for these items to come home on Monday and Tuesday this week and store them in a safe location at home.
To our Virtual Learning families, please remember that it is extremely important that students complete all of their assignments and stay in contact with their teacher throughout the week. As we approach our first quarter interim reports, please remember that students’ grades will reflect assignments that have not been completed. Please reach out to me or your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about this. We are here to support you!
This week, we will practice our procedures for a Code Red Lockdown on Thursday and Friday. Our students in Pre-K and Kindergarten are exempt from lockdown drills during the first 60 days of school, but teachers will discuss the procedures with the class. All other students will practice the lockdown procedures and will maintain physical distancing during the drill.
Have a great week! We can’t wait to see everyone in their Green and Gold tomorrow and Friday!
