Hello Trevilians Families,
Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of August 21-25.
We had an awesome first five-day week last week. Our students have gotten into the routines for drop off and pick up, and they’ve also been working on routines in their classrooms. Last Wednesday, we met as a school to unveil our school-wide expectations, which all students had a part in developing. Those five school-wide expectations are: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Honest, and Always Do Your Best. We appreciate any support you can give at home in supporting those expectations with your students.
This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will take the SOL Student Growth Assessments in reading and math on Tuesday and Thursday. Information from these assessments will help teachers in planning their instruction for our students.
On Wednesday, our students in 1st through 5th grades will participate in our first Lockdown Drill of the year. PK and kindergarten students do not have to participate in this drill at this time. Teachers will review the procedures and the purpose of the drill with their students before they take part in the drill.
On Friday, LCPS will have our first Green and Gold Day of the year. Wear your green and gold shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, hairbows, and other accessories and help us celebrate LCPS!
We appreciate your help in completing the online beginning-of-the-school-year forms. For those of you who have not yet completed the forms, another email was sent out to you last week with a snap code that you can use to complete the forms. Please check your email, and if you receive one from PowerSchool, please use the snap code and complete the forms as soon as you can so we have updated information for your student. This includes information on who is able to pick up your student from school. If you need internet access, please feel free to come to TES anytime between 7:30 and 4:30, Monday through Friday, and you can use one of our computers to complete the forms.
As a reminder, we will not be able to allow any outside food into the building for birthday celebrations until August 28 in order to give us time to account for allergies for all of our students. Starting on August 28, if you would like to bring in cupcakes or other items to celebrate your child’s birthday, please remember that the food must be store-bought and that you must provide our nurse with the ingredients at least 48 hours in advance.
We hope you all had an excellent weekend, and we hope you have a great week this week.
Mr. Black
