Hello Trevilians Families,
Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of August 28-September 1.
Tomorrow, we will begin using our Open Gate system when students enter the building each morning. This is another way to add a layer of safety to our already safe schools. Our students were provided with information about Open Gate last week, and they had an opportunity to walk through the devices. Both LCHS and LCMS had a successful implementation of Open Gate over the last two weeks, and we expect the same thing to occur at TES this week. As a reminder to our families, if you come to school and plan to enter the main part of the building for a meeting or to eat lunch in the cafeteria, we will have you go through our Open Gate system as well after you check in and show your ID at the front office. Thank you for your support in helping to make our schools safe for our students and our staff.
This week, we will continue our beginning-of-the-year safety drills with a Bus Evacuation Drill Tuesday morning when the buses arrive to school.
On Tuesday night, our PTA will have their first event of the year with a Spirit Night at Frostie’s Rail Stop in the town of Louisa from 4:00-8:00 PM. A percentage of all sales will go to the TES PTA, so head to Frostie’s and get some ice cream or a shake and help support our PTA!
Starting this week, you will be able to bring in cupcakes or other treats to provide to your student’s class for his or her birthday. When bringing in outside food, please remember that the food must be store-bought, must have a list of ingredients, and must be cleared by our school nurse at least 48 hours in advance so she can check the allergies of the students in the classroom.
Last week, you may have seen a flyer that was sent home advertising our TES Annual Back to School Cookout. This year, the cookout will be on Tuesday, September 12, from 5:00-7:00 PM. We will start with a brief presentation in the cafeteria, and then we will head out to the soccer field for some food and a lot of fun. If you haven’t done so already, please send in your RSVP so we can get an accurate count of how much food we will need. We hope you all can join us on September 12!
Be on the lookout for a Parent Information Envelope coming home tomorrow with your students. This includes information about our School Store fundraiser program. You will find important information about a safe and easy way your family can help our school get the essential tools our students and teachers need to succeed. Your student will earn a participation prize when they return the completed envelope to school with the prize code written on the front. This is an easy way to raise money for our school and for students to get a cool prize! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Parrish in the front office.
As a reminder, there will be no school next Monday, September 4, due to the Labor Day holiday.
We hope you all had an excellent weekend, and we hope you have a great week this week.
Mr. Black
