Principal's Update

Hello Trevilians Families,

Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of October 4-8.

This month is Kindness Month at Louisa County Public Schools.  We kicked it off with Kindness Day on Friday, October 1, and we plan to continue spreading kindness throughout the month.  Earlier today, you received an email from LCPS detailing the special events that will take place each week to celebrate Kindness Month.  Your students will also bring home a flyer on Monday.  This week is titled Spread Kindness Like Confetti.  This week we want to encourage students to spread kindness by sending cards, writing thank-you notes, opening doors, saying “hello”, and just being kind to others.  We want to model what it is like to be kind.  Teachers will be doing some activities with their classes this week, and we encourage you to do so at home as well.  If your student makes some cards at home and would like some help in distributing them, please let us know.  We are more than happy to help.  Start saving those coins for next week, as next week is Coins for Kindness as we help support one of our community resources, Pony Partners.  More information to come next week.

This week, on Friday, we will have Picture Day for all students.  This Friday is also the final day of the first marking period.  Report cards will be sent home next Friday.

Friday night will be Music Night at the LCHS football game.  Several of our TES 4th and 5th graders will be participating in the event, and for those students participating, please be at the stadium and ready to go by 6:50 PM.

We are excited to announce that Crazy 8s Math Club is back this Fall at TES! This is not a tutoring service; rather, Crazy 8s is an over-the-top club designed to get kids fired up about math. A flyer was sent home with your child last week. Get more information and register at  Please let us know if you have any questions.

We want to remind you that next Monday, October 11, is a Teacher Workday, and there will be no school for students.

Finally, here are our Eagle Eye for Kindness recipients for the week:

1st Grade - Ava Lewis

2nd Grade - Elizabeth Foster

3rd Grade - Sebastian Alessi

4th Grade - Julian Crawford

5th Grade - Liliana Wasicki Sweat

We hope you all had an excellent weekend, and we hope you have a great week.

Gary Black
