Hello Trevilians Families,
Here is the Trevilians Eagles Preview for the week of March 30-April 3. We hope you had an excellent Spring Break and had some time to rest and connect with your family and friends. We’re excited to see everyone again this week as we start our final 6 weeks of the school year!
As a reminder, next Tuesday, April 21, will be a day off for students due to an Election Day at several of our schools.
Attendance Academy will take place this week on Monday and Tuesday from 3:15-4:45. Chorus will also take place on Tuesday from 3:15-4:45. This week also begins Extended Learning for 4th Grade VA Studies, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday until 4:45.
On Monday, our 4th Grade Honor Society students will go on their field trip.
Family life classes will take place for 3rd-5th grade students during Resource this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
This Thursday is National PJ Day to support Childhood Cancer, so students, feel free to wear your favorite pajamas on Thursday to help support a worthy cause!
For those students who earned a Stuff’d Pal through our spring fundraiser, students will get the opportunity to get their Pal on Friday.
Our KG Screening/Registration Night will take place this Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 at TES. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so online this week, or you can come join us on Wednesday night. All families who registered online ahead of time should have received a call for an appointment time on Wednesday. Don’t forget that you can bring your registration documents with you, as our office staff will be here to assist you.
This Thursday, we will begin our annual ABC Countdown to Summer event. Starting with the letter “A” on Thursday, each day will have a special activity/surprise as we count down our way to the last day of school. Flyers were sent home before Spring Break.
The LCPS April 21st community service opportunity is just over a week away, and we have a fantastic opportunity for our students to give back to Louisa County while being creative and kind. On April 21st, all LCPS elementary students will have the opportunity to create a kindness rock as well as to practice the 5Cs - collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and citizenship. Students will decorate a rock to place somewhere in Louisa to spread kindness and joy! A permission slip will be sent home with a sheet to help you plan and draft your own LCPS Kindness Rock. If you cannot join us in person on April 21st, don’t worry! We can still give your Kindness Rock drawing to a community member in Louisa County. All Kindness ROCKS RSVP should be completed no later than Friday, April 17th. We will be hosting this event at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School from 12 PM to 2 PM. We can’t wait to see you all there!
On the last day of school before Spring Break, we held our students vs. staff basketball game to celebrate our PTA fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. The winning class, Mrs. Dwyer’s homeroom, took on the staff, and the exciting game ended in a tie! There were also halftime performances from our 2nd and 3rd place winners, Mrs. Riley’s homeroom and Mrs. Anderson’s homeroom. As a school, we collected enough pop tabs to raise enough money for a family to have a free night’s stay at the Ronald McDonald House and a free dinner! Thanks to our students and families for spreading kindness to other families in need.
Speaking of the PTA, they would like to invite you to Texas Roadhouse in Charlottesville this Thursday, April 16, from 5-8pm. The PTA receives 10% of the proceeds! Flyers will be sent home tomorrow. As always, the PTA thanks you for your support!
