Trevilians Elementary School is situated on 40 acres of ground in the western portion of Louisa County, Virginia. In the midst of rolling countryside, the school is nestled amidst agricultural dairy and tree farms in the Historic Green Springs District.
The largest cavalry battle of the Civil War took place on the very site where the school sits.
The original school on the present site was the Alberta Guy Despot School, constructed in 1963. This small one hallway school consisted of eight classrooms and was in operation until it closed it's doors to make way for the current 68,110 foot Trevilians Elementary School facility. In 1986 Trevilians opened as a kindergarten through grade six school serving the children of the closed A.G. Despot and Green Springs Schools. Between 1986 and 1997 the enrollment soared to 680 students.
With the 1997 opening of the Louisa County Middle School, TES became a pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade school, which currently has a membership of 450 students.
